BoxSentry and ISB partner to deliver the first Bahasa Indonesia-enabled email protection system (View Pictures)

Spam filters are currently costing businesses an estimated US$3.5 billion a year by mis-classifying good emails as spam.


JAKARTA, January 17, 2008 – PT Information Solusi Bisnis (ISB), a leading IT distributor based in Jakarta Indonesia, has announced its partnership with Singapore-based BoxSentry Pte Limited to deliver the first ever Bahasa Indonesia enabled version of RealMail®.

Industry experts generally acknowledge that currently between 85-90% of global email traffic is spam and that this spam level is likely to increase in 2008.

According to Opus One, an enterprise network product test specialist, some popular current generation email security solutions cause false positive (error) rates as high as 0.85%. This means that one in every 120 legitimate business emails will not be delivered to its recipient due to a classification error by a spam filter.

Due to the fact that most anti spam products are designed to work with English, they tend to make more mistakes in languages such as Chinese, Arabic and even Bahasa Indonesia. Quoting a report by industry analyst Ferris Research, BoxSentry CEO Manish Goel said: “Lost emails cost businesses an estimated US$3.5 billion each year.” Goel added, “Ultimately, the revenue lost as a consequence of damaged business relationships could be many times higher.”

Goel advised that “Businesses have come to accept that these lost emails are simply an unavoidable consequence in the fight against spam and other online security threats. However, BoxSentry strongly disagrees with this assertion and, together with its technology and solution partners, has developed an unique approach which remedies this situation.”
